Originally from New Jersey, raised in parts of Texas and California, Ryan has called New Orleans his home for some time now. Since arriving he has become a common sight playing in the streets and clubs throughout New Orleans. Performing regulary at the House of Blues with the Slim Nelson Trio, Ryan has shared the stage with greats like Bo Diddley, the Neville Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News, Irma Thomas, David Allen Coe, Coco Robicheaux and Kim Carson.

Ryan is very well accomplished in many areas of blues guitar. Be it the ragtime picking of Blind Blake, the delta slide styles of Fred Mc Dowell or the country blues work of Brownie McGhee, Ryan performs all with great accuracy. Mainly self thaught, some lessons with blues master Bernie Pearl helped him achieve a higher level of playing. A great student of the blues, Ryan is a performer to be taken very seriously.
